With the availabilty of great lakes and rivers, kayaking is a must for anyone living in or visiting the area. Just want to kick back and enjoy some time on calm water? We can show you the skills you need to do just that; safely, while we tour Little Squam Lake.

Primary Strokes
Are you interested in dipping your toes into some water based adventuring? If so, this is the class for you! In Primary Strokes our ACA and BCU certified instructors will introduce you to fundamental kayaking skills like proper boat and PFD fit, carrying and lifting techniques, efficient forward and reverse strokes, and several maneuvering strokes including sweeps, draws, and rudders. This class takes place in a protected and calm water environment best suited for learning basic strokes.
We will also discuss hazards on and off the water, hypothermia and hyperthermia, and paddling safety and preparation.

Strokes & Rescues
Jump right in, the water’s gorgeous! This full day class goes several steps beyond Primary Strokes. We will introduce the fundamental strokes and topics covered in Primary Strokes, and then continue into safe wet exit and reentry techniques in the second part of the day. You’re ACA or BCU certified instructor will demonstrate and teach several self and assisted reentry methods including T rescues and Bow rescues.
Strokes and Rescues takes place on a protected and calm water body to enhance your learning experience. At the conclusion of this class, you will have been introduced to the fundamental boat control skills you need to be a safe boater.
